About this photograph :
Flaque
"The photograph guards the memory of water as water, that neither abides, nor leaves a trace of time on that which it erodes or remodels. But if these pictures evoke a coastline almost African and a scenery almost original, Bertrand Richardeau is not content to fix the forms of water; he recomposes and discovers in them a material almost integrally photographic, impressive, and glistening as an equivocal mirror."(Jean-Philippe TRIAS)
About the artist :
Bertrand
Richardeau
At the age of ten, Bertrand Richardeau discovered photography through the lab while developing his father's negatives … the beginning of a long interaction between photography and water. The series " Amphibologies " was created between 1993 and 1995, on the coasts of Charente-Maritime and in Petite Camargue. He then delivered to us " Images du monde flottant " (Images of a Floating World), a parcel of beach that he photographed during several winters, a work about the perception of space, of matter, and of time.
