About this photograph :
Hitchcock, The Birds
When Alfred Hitchcock filmed The Birds in 1963, he was at the peak of his career. The film was extremely innovative at the time as the soundtrack had no music just the sound of birds calling. The special effects during the bird attacks required two years’ work from cartoon specialists. Like in Psycho, the script is simple and the production refined. In spite of the film’s many qualities, "The Birds" was not the box-office hit expected.
