About this photograph :
Coucher de soleil sur Manhattan
“When I look for a panoramic view of Manhattan, I favour the top of the Rockefeller Center, the ‘Top of the Rock.’ It provides this magnificent view of the Empire State Building and the Wall Street towers in the background. In the distance Verrazano Bridge and the Statue of Liberty can be made out. The light of the sunset highlights the silhouettes of the skyscrapers and the slightly sepia tone of the black and white gives the impression that the photo was taken in the ‘30s, at the time of the completion of the Empire State Building.” GG
About the artist :
Guillaume
Gaudet
Born in Versailles in 1969, Guillaume Gaudet developed a taste for travel and the discovery of new cultures during his childhood, which he spent living in several foreign countries, notably in Spain, Argentina and Germany. After a career in public relations in Paris, he joined his wife in New York in 2006. On arrival, he fell in love with this bustling city. As someone who has always been fascinated by photography, the urban landscape and the melting pot atmosphere of the Big Apple is an inexhaustible source of inspiration for him. New York is his favoured playground, where he does not tire of photographing the smallest detail. Through light, architecture or a life scene, in each of his photos he tries to capture a small part of the city’s soul and energy.
