In order to follow the ins and outs of the writer Jack Torrance’s insanity in the maze-like hotel corridors in ‘The Shining,’ the director again used NASA equipment. Steadicam is a camera stabilization system developed to photograph the landing of the Apollo capsule on the moon. This system allowed Kubrick to have fluid camera movement without vibration.
