Le Nomade De Noergai
The photographer created unrest by displaying a photograph accurately resuming the codes of the traditional painting of portraits. The framing of the subject corresponds to what is known today as an American shot, from the head to mid-leg. He is positioned three quarters on, but the head is face on and the subject is looking at the lens. This photograph taken in 2007 depicts a pilgrim. Each year, this old Tibetan man makes a pilgrimage to the Buddhist temple of Lanmu in Gansu province.

Success was rapid and works by this Chinese artist, born in Beijing in 1975, already feature in numerous private collections around the world. Now a photographer, the artist is not ready to renounce his theoretical painting background. Yang Bin composes his photographs like a painter constructs paintings and an artist’s style transforms his models.
